If the numbers look incredible, just remember that this report covers March through June of this year.
I’ve been really focusing on investing in myself and part of that means being ok with a lot of things on this blog taking longer or not happening when I would like. Hence, the reason for a 4 month savings report.
I track every dollar that I am able to put into my savings account for the month which comes from money skimmed from my budget, money trimmed off of monthly expenses, money saved for annual expenses and any extra money I can bring in.
Savings for the last year of tuition. The picture on the left is the progress made after one month of tracking my progress. The middle is after five months. The picture on the right is after nine months of tracking; All the money is saved up for tuition!! (I just didn't calculate the spaces correctly).

In the middle of my Great Savings Experiment last year, I realized that you make much more progress when you are focused on just one money dream at a time.
Saving up the money needed for my hubby’s last year of school has had priority, with putting just a small amount into building my 3 month emergency fund as well each month.
Over the last four months, I was able to put the following amounts towards school and my emergency fund.
Account | Amount | |
---|---|---|
School | $1,971.30 | |
Emergency | $2,076.50 | |
The last four months have been incredible as I have finally seen some major accomplishments towards my savings dreams and there have been a couple of changes made which have freed me up immensely!
