Have you ever won an award that made you want to do a happy dance?
Speaking of happy dances, when Kathleen told me she wanted to nominate Cook With a Shoe for the Sisterhood of the World Bloggers award because she thinks I have a lot to offer and am appreciated by many, I had to remember to do a happy dance as I was completely humbled by her kind words.
As part of my acceptance of this award, I need to answer the following questions.
1. How long have you been seriously blogging?
I have been seriously blogging for 5.5 months.
2. Before blogging, did you do writing, if so what kind?
I had two personal blogs for 12 years, a couple years of writing poetry, and wrote a 30 page article which was published in the Journal of Interpretation (my professional organization's journal).
3. Do you hope to make an income from your blog?
Yes, I do, and actually started earning money this month!
4. Provide a link to your favorite blog post on your blog.
Hmm, my favorite post. I am going to pick Quiet and Peaceful: Celebrating 5 years of being debt free because it has been such a blessing to be debt free and to be able to lend a hand to those still struggling with finances. The last five years have been a time of intense growth in my perspective on finances and life.
5. What is one thing you love doing apart from blogging?
I love spending time with my nieces and have been known to rearrange my schedule in order to see them.
6. Do you love house cleaning?
Haha, I do enjoy cleaning as it is a rewarding job. However, I have pretty much given up on the idea that my house can stay clean all the time, at least while I am working so much.
7. Does your family read your blog, do they encourage you or are they not really into it?
There are quite a few of my family members who read my blog (hi!) and they are all very supportive of me. Several of them have been coming to me for financial advice and started the idea in my heart to share what I have learned with all of you.
8. Have you made virtual friends because of blogging?
I have made quite a few new friends due to blogging and they are all around the world, which amazes me! Making new friends, being able to encourage them with my articles, and being inspired by their articles has been one of the best things about blogging.
9. Do you have a reachable goal or a dream that seems unattainable at this time?
There are two goals which are my main focus right now, seeing my husband finish school debt free and building up our emergency fund. Both goals can seem reachable and unattainable depending on the day and how tired I am.
10. What do you do to take care of yourself?
Eating nutrient dense food is a priority as well as seeking God every day. Recently, I have realized quality sleep, physical activity and less screen time need to be more of a priority in my life.
4. Nominate 8 other bloggers, for the Sisterhood of the world bloggers award – link them in your post and notify them of their nomination.
I will be thinking over who I want to nominate to receive this award and will update this post as I nominate others. My circle of blogger friends is slowly spreading, but as of now, I only follow a handful.
Again, I am grateful for Kathleen and the rest of you who think so highly of what I have to share. The growth of this blog would not even be possible if you were not here reading every article and interacting with me, so from the bottom of my heart, thank you!
