You’re ready to stop hustling and you are desperate to rest, but now you are at a loss. What exactly do you do to not hustle? Rest? How do I rest?
I totally get that! Let me share what has been helped me learn how to rest and recharge.
1. Give yourself permission to stop hustling
You aren’t letting your family down. In fact, you can love them more when you are in a better place, than when you are so overwhelmed and exhausted. And no, you aren’t being lazy or irresponsible.
This one was a huge hurdle for me to overcome and still is something I struggle with often.
2. Open up about your challenges
Share with your family and a few trusted advisers/friends how stressed you have become from hustling so much and that you need to step back. Open up about how you have changed into a different person, one you don’t like, and you need time to rest.
These conversations can be hard. It’s difficult to admit that you, with your super cape, need help and need rest, but do it anyways.
Yet, opening up and sharing how I am struggling has been so freeing for me! My spirit is no longer so weighed down by trying to carry it alone.
3. Guard against the hustle
Set specific boundaries to make yourself slow down. These are times you will not work. Period.
For me, I stopped working in the evenings and on Saturdays. Additionally, I have been scheduling my jobs with more margin in between, so I have plenty of time to arrive without being stressed.
A huge weight was lifted when I gave my resignation from my part time job and left at the end of March. I am very thankful for the financial boost this part time job gave, but I am so relieved to get rid of it!!
4. Invest in yourself
Take time to do something you love. Spend a little bit of money on you.
Yes, you might feel hesitant since you’ve been throwing all your extra cash towards your money dream, but it’s worth it as you are investing in your mental well being.
I started gardening again and now I can’t wait to go sit in my garden, I love the peacefulness so much! I also invested some money into growing this blog as a business.
The next three tips have helped me so much!
