The shipping details is one of the most important aspects when selling on Ebay.
There are two main options we will focus on, which are flat shipping and calculated shipping. I am going to focus on USPS as the carrier as I find this is the most cost efficient option.
These are all the options available when shipping your item:
Tips when using USPS for shipping:
- Priority shipping receives a tracking number, insurance and a guaranteed arrival time.
- Free shipping boxes are available through USPS’s website and will be delivered with your regular mail.
- You receive a 10% discount when you pay for postage online through PayPal and USPS.
- There is no need to make a trip to your local post office. You can schedule your packages to be picked up from your home!
- You do not have to weigh your package using a flat rate package.

Seller Fees
One last thing, there are a few possible fees that Ebay will charge you.
You can list up to 50 items per calendar month without any insertion fees. After your 50 free items, the insertion fee is $0.30/item, and this fee will be charged when you list the item.
The Final Value Fee is calculated when your item sells and Ebay will charge you 10% of your item’s final value. You will have to pay this fee upon the month’s end with all of your fees combined. This is charged every time you sell something.
Now you have learned how to start selling on Ebay. The first few times you list an item will take a little bit of time as you will need to get accustomed to the format.
Before you know it, you will be a pro. Selling on Ebay is an easy and quick source of income. There are so many items you can choose to sell, all from the comfort of your home.
